Charlevoix

Perched above the crystal blue waters of Round Lake with the infamous drawbridge that leads you to Lake Michigan, Charlevoix is a charming resort town, bustling with activity in the summer months and enjoying the slower pace of life in the fall and winter.

Known for its amazing Venetian Festival - a week-long event the third week of July that brings in free live music at the waterfront, carnival rides for the kids, fireworks, boat parades and an endless list of entertainment from morning and well into the evening.  Waterfront art fairs, boutiques, bakeries, brew pubs and great eateries are dotted along the downtown streets. There is nothing quite like sitting on a bench in the harbor watching the amazing vessels on the water heading into the horizon of Lake Michigan.

The Apple Festival in October is as colorful as the season, hosting several orchards with their famed fruits to taste and purchase.  Experience recreational opportunities of more than 20 trails and nature preserves and enjoy the historic architecture of Charlevoix, by taking a tour of the famed Earl Young Mushroom Houses and the majesty of Castle Farms which hosts special events throughout the entire year.
